Dear Governor Haslam:
This is my 122nd letter to you.
Your defense of Darrin Gordon was as best I could tell was that he was a good businessman. Your criticism of the Tennessee Justice Center was that they got in the way of running a good business.
Governor it is not about good business. It is about the welfare of individual people in a system that sometimes doesn’t care much about individual people. The assumption that government will protect the rights of the people it serves independent of some type of oversight is naive at best and foolish at worst. In your case it is self serving. It serves to try to invalidate criticism you don’t want to hear.
You can’t do better for Tennessee if you don’t do better for Tennesseans. The problems with Tenn Care were brought to your and Mr. Gordon’s attention long before any suit was filed. And those efforts were ignored. Governor it is time for you to accept accountability and move on.
It is about so much more than good business.
