The 75th letter: Linda

Dear Governor Haslam:

This is my 75th letter to you.

The picture above is my wife Linda.  I thought it was time you knew what she looked like.

Today was moving day.  She moved to south Knoxville today about 25 miles from where I live.  Without TenncCare expansion in all likelihood we will never live together a again.  But I guess by now you know that.

You dont know what today felt like though.  You dont know what it felt like leaving without her in the car.  You dont have a clue.

Her seizures are getting worse again.  Maybe the stress I dont know.  She had one seizure in a church parking lot this week.  I caught her before she busted her head on the road.  I am not there to catch her now.

Keep her picture.  Look at it from time to time.  You would like her… I know you would.

I told her once I would love her forever and ever and 4 more days.  It was the truest words I ever said.  She is worth so much more than you have ever given.

Keep the picture.  Perhaps one day you will take the time to meet the real thing.

Until tomorrow.

Yours truly,

Larry Drain

  1. Never in my life have I seen such a travesty of justice Mr. Haslam. I do not call you Governor because you do not deserve that title. I hope you think about the Drains before you sleep at night. Then again, how do you sleep at night? There is a verse in the Bible that says-Rich people who see a brother or sister in need, yet close their hearts against them, cannot claim that they love God. 1 John 3:17
