The 47th letter: Losing my home

Dear Governor Haslam:

This is more 47th letter to you.  And it is the one I have feared the most for each of these 47 days.  Things have gotten a lot worse in the last couple of days.  Catastrophe has come to our house.

Linda’s placement with her mom has fallen apart.  It had always been tenuous, but we had hoped.  She now basically has no place to live. All attempts to find other resources have failed.

For a few days we will be together.  I have already quit my job.  I know that would cost her all of her Tenn Care and I cant even chance that.  We are going to to take a week to see if we can come up with an option.  If we don’t then at the end of next week I plan to move out and live on the street. We have run out of options.   We have barely enough money for one residence let alone two.  I have to do whatever I can do to keep Linda safe.

There are a lot of details to work out so it will take a few days.  I hope you will pray for us.

Expanding Tenn Care is one of the few hopes left.  I hope you will consider it soon.

For a while my car will be my home.  If you know anyone who would give me a safe place to park I would appreciate a name.

Until tomorrow.

Yours truly,

Larry Drain

  1. Dear Larry,
I am so truly sorry for all that has been dumped on you as well as your ailing wife. I am here if you or your wife need a supportive ear.
Email if you’d like to talk.
    Sincerely,
    Mary Hagood
